Construction of the Universal Culture and Sports Complex “Arena-2000-Lokomotiv”
In 2001 with participation of the Finnish company SKANSKA the project of construction in Yaroslavl of the up-to-date culture and sports complex as a site for large international contests and other sport and cultural events was realized. The capacity of the complex is 9,5 thousand spectators. “Arena-2000” holds matches of Russian Hockey Championship, pop-stars concerts and other cultural events.

Modernization of OJSC “Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez”
In the context of this project the modern High-level Oil Processing Complex was built, which allowed to increase level of oil processing to 66% and increase delivery of light oils. Production project, equipment supply, installation support were carried out by the consortium of the world leading companies – Mitsui, Toyo Engineering (Japan) and Tissen (Germany).
Volume of investments made up 700 million US Dollars. To finance the second stage of this project a credit of 200 million US Dollars from the Japan Ex-ImBank was used.

Establishment and organization of mass manufacturing of the new aviation engine SaM146 for the family of Russian regional airplanes Superjet (RRJ)
The project is realized in Rybinsk in the context of international cooperation of the French Company Snecma (Safran Group) and the OJSC Science Production Association “Saturn” (“Rybinsk Engines”). As a result of partnership four joint enterprises were established; French specialists work in Rybinsk on continuing basis.
Testing of the first engine SaM146 is carried out in Rybinsk. Companies Snecma and “Saturn” produce components and assembly units for this engine; about 300 different companies from dozens of countries of the world deliver component parts for the engine. Receiving of certificate is planned in March 2008. It will let engine SaM146 and airplane Superjet enter the international market. Manufacturing production and engine supplies will start in 2008-2009.
Total volume of investments – about 600 million Dollars.
French Government has given a credit of 129 million Euros to the company Snecma. From its side Snecma invests in the project realization about 300-400 million Dollars.
Russian Government has allocated 3,79 billion Rubles for development of engine SaM146. At the same time the Science Production Association has already invested more than 100 million Dollars to the project; it plans to invest about 100 million Dollars more.

Establishment in Yaroslavl of a Distributive Center and modernization of the OJSC “Yaroslavl Polygraph Industrial Complex”
Concern Bertelsmann AG has realized in 1997 in Yaroslavl the construction project of a Distributive Center to render services of subscription and delivery of books and other printed matter from printing houses catalogues by post on the territory of Russia. The company has 100% participation in the capital stock of the established enterprise.
In 1999 the concern Bertelsmann AG has bought controlling stock of the OJSC “Yaroslavl Polygraph Industrial Complex” and has carried out the project of production modernization.

Establishment by Sonopress Company of licensed production of CD- and DVD disks in Yaroslavl
One of the world largest producers of licensed disks, the branch company of the Concern Bertelsmann AG, has opened in spring of 2006 in Yaroslavl the first in Russia licensed production of disks with capacity of 80 thousand disks per day on the basis of the OJSC “Yaroslavl Polygraph Industrial Complex”.

Eastman Kodak Company has opened in Pereslavl-Zalesskiy at the end of 1990-ies a manufacture of coloured photographic paper final processing and prepackaging of photographic chemicals. Today this enterprise with about 100 employees is one of the key taxpayers of the city.

The Yaroslavl tobacco plant CJSC “Balkan Star” (before its owner changed) has carried out the project of filtered cigarettes production modernization. Together with German companies “Sasib” and “Hauni” the plant was equipped with contemporary equipment.

Company “Metro Cash&Carry” has opened in Yaroslavl its Center of Small Wholesale trade
Company “Metro Cash&Carry” (Metro Group, Germany) has opened in Yaroslavl in 2004 its Center of Small Wholesale Trade with 15 thousand square meters of total area and with more than 20 thousand designations of industrial goods and foodstuffs.
Yaroslavl was the first among neighbouring regions of the Northeastern Russia (the Vologda, Ivanovo, Kostroma region), where such center of Metro Group opened.

Company “Ermak Development” has opened in Yaroslavl the first stage of the Leisure and Trade Center “Altair”
In November 2006 the company “Ermak Development” (Russia) has opened in Yaroslavl the first stage of the Leisure and Trade Center “Altair”. Its total area is 60 thousand square meters. The first stage of the center includes hypermarket “Perekrestok”, supermarket of consumer electronics and audio and video equipment “Mir”, and food center with five cafes.
The second stage of the Leisure and Trade Center “Altair” with 15 thousand square meters of total area will include hypermarket of household commodities, construction and repairs goods, a trade gallery, multi-halls cinema theatre “Kinomax” and a family leisure center.

Trade Center with hypermarkets REAL and Home Center is under way in Yaroslavl
At the beginning of 2006 construction of the first stage of the Trade Center “Vernisage” began in Yaroslavl; the center will include hypermarket REAL of the German company “Metro Group” and a household commodities store Home Center of the Israel Group Fishman Holdings.
The center will open in the first quarter of 2007. Total area of the first stage of the center is 40 thousand square meters. The second stage presupposes construction of additional trade area and a leisure complex of 40 thousand square meters of total area.
Project owner, company “Global 1” has appointed company Norman Asset Management developer of the project. Russian bank “Gazprombank” and the Israel company “Industrial Building Corporation” finance the project.
Managing Director of Hypermarket REAL Thorsten Vogt has declared at the opening ceremony of the trade center construction, that his company “is very pleased that its second regional project in Russia will be carried out in Yaroslavl; because the city has good investment climate and minimum administrative barriers for investors”.
