This is possibly the most charming of all Russian provinces and one of the major points of interest of the famous Golden Ring. There aren't so many places in Russia where the magnificence of landscapes along the Volga River and rich historical and cultural heritage are embodied in a great number of unique monuments of art.

The region is a fountain of information for those interested in Russian history, architecture or culture. The abundance of museums, Old Russian churches, monasteries and buildings, as well as benevolent atmosphere of the region no doubt will touch the very bottom of your heart. The fascination of the Yaroslavl region is also in the fact that being near the capital of Russia it has retained up to now its unique colouring of a genuine Russian province. Yaroslavl region is the geat historic centre - the pearl of the Golden Ring of Russia. In 2006 the Yaroslavl region attracted 908 thousand tourists. Among them 230 thousand are foreign guests from France (more then 30%), Germany (28%), USA(20%) and also from Italy, Great Britain and Spain.
